11 Best Places To Break Your Fast In Kuala Lumpur This Ramadhan 2026

Vanessa LEat7 months ago

Ramadhan, as most know, is the time for self-reflection and ever greater devotion when we turn to discipline. Besides, while puasa seems daunting to some, it’s a true test stretching far beyond hunger. Restraint by day, reunion by night, at iftar, it dissolves across tables shared only with your close ones. Talk about community as one—experiencing such discipline and ending it, together. Now, Ramadhan buffets are indeed a spectacle, but sometimes iftar calls for a smaller table—a slower start, and more intimate a night fixed for two… or three or four—well, you get it.

On that note, here are eleven restaurants to rethink the way you break fast.

1. ATAS at The RuMa Hotel & Residences

Rasa Malaysia

ATAS may be Malay for ‘upstairs’, yet there exudes a playful trace to something of ‘upper-class’, a chic concept rooted out by The RuMa. Spacious open-floor plan and sleek furnishings, attuned to the hotel’s historical veins and cultural flair, it’s a classy scene—minimum two invitees, fit for the Rasa Malaysia course, launching on 18th March 2026.

This Malaysian tasting menu honours the heart and heritage in our age-old recipes, reimagined with a modern edge by Executive Chef Suhalmi Tasir. Picture Indian appetiser: crisp Pani Puri as the first course, Chinese-style Teochew Fish Soup—clean and comforting, to rich, robust Beef Rib Rendang Tok. Close your night with Nyonya (Peranakan) Dessert: Bubur Cha-Cha Parfait; each a course carrying our Malaysian soul, and every flavour retold in bolden folds.

Price: Per pax, RM208+ for their 4-course.

2. Bijan Bar & Restaurant Fine Malay Cuisine

Makan Berhidang

Since 2003, Bijan has been a haven in the city for those yearning for true Malay cuisine. Sitting in a corner away from Changkat Bukit Bintang, while the space is tuned to that like a hidden oasis, with a patio for alfresco affairs and dishes accented with texture as well as tradition, Bijan rewards your dining experience with fine wine pairing, too.

This holy month, however, Bijan shifts the tone with their Makan Berhidang courses. Starring three sumptuous set menus: Santapan Kenduri (RM390+), Santapan Warisan (RM590+), and Santapan Istana (RM790+). For a party of four—or family—these menus especially showcase popular picks like the Gulai Lemak Daging Salai, Rusuk Panggang, Wagyu Panggang, and Udang Galah Masak Lemak Cili Api. If that sounds mouthwatering, perhaps it’s time to try.

“Keeping traditions alive.” Congkak, with a humble title and nostalgia that tempts many, is a Malaysian restaurant who impresses not only with hearty rations, but the Nusantara cuisine diners would journey through, under their unassuming roof.

The Congkak Beremi Ramadan Menu, on the other hand, is shaped for the holy season. Two courses: Nasi Briyani Lamb Shank Kebuli and Nasi Ambeng—soulful feasts, familiar favourites. Offering slow-braised lamb shank pillowed across spice-imbued kebuli rice as a communal platter, by traditional design, is shared with your close ones.

Picture a platter, aromatic rice in the middle, swathed in gulai ayam, ikan goreng berlado, sambal, serunding, acar, and many more. Ramadhan gathers us at the table, with neither boards nor counters, just Congkak turning its attention to Malaysian heritage one dish at a time.

4. Dancing Fish

Santapan Di Bawah Langit

It’s true that this piece is to spotlight quieter scenes to dine in, contrary to bountiful buffets. In similar fashion, this Malay-Indonesian restaurant is unveiling their Santapan Di Bawah Langit—buffet under the night sky, for the first time. Think Michelin-starred savours drawn out into the open air at Bloomsvale Shopping Gallery’s Sky Deck—a spread against skyline affair.

Surrounded by a glittering city, between glass towers, the Kambing Golek gleams in its bronzed skin, slow-roasted, and sliced on the spot. The Bubur Lambuk Ayam whets the appetite, before the Ikan Bakar Cencaru & Siakap swims in charred splendour. The traditional staple Ayam Pedas Ekor and Ayam Masak Lemak Cili Padi sits well alongside their rice selections: nasi hujan panas, nasi kunyit, and more, with kerabu, greens, and crisps like emping as bright counterpoints.

ABC, porridge softly sweet, and cendol as a sweet closing. Effortlessly so, let Dancing Fish be the one to still write its chapter of comfort dining under the stars.

This fiery sister of Kay’s Steak & Lobster is shifting their gear—and grill—to an utmost ‘kampung luxury’ for you and your family to indulge in. Fiel, a modern charcoal grillhouse in KLGCC has not only rolled up to the city—since last October—with more flame and flair than their sibling Kay’s, they’ve brought together a special menu: Gemersik Kasih, in spirit of the holy month where you return to your kampung classics, led with a modern charm.

For a table of four, Gemersik Kasih kicks off with delectable kuih before scrummy starters like Karipap Pusing Wagyu, Pie Tee, and Lemang with Rendang Kerang sneak in. Then, free-flow of your nasi choices to round out the tender Itik Salai Masak Lemak; Wagyu Bakar—the standout dish of Fiel; and Sambal Udang in Petai Siam, a spicy-side-kick to punch up the bite.

Of course, with sides to pair and sweets to appease those with a penchant for indulgence, this is a night promised with taste as well as togetherness.

Their elegant take on Indian cuisine is as authentic as it is abundant—a journey many find themselves content with. Likewise, imagine a refined yet relaxed space, laden with buffet offerings as you’re graced to a night prepared not for the many, but for you and your selected crowd.

While it isn’t the usual Malay delicacies, the Santapan Gathering instead takes you into the rich diversity of Indian cuisine. Perhaps it’s a night to switch up appetite, and try a savour with the spice, character, and complexity weaved in Frangipaani’s buffet spread. Envision classics like their North Indian: Butter Chicken, Mutton Rogan Josh, and Amritsari Fish Curry, tucked in with Jeera Rice. 7. Luca

Luca’s Iftar Feast 2026: Sajian Senja

Luca in BSC is one restaurant that most can’t help but to take a step into. Be it their all-day dining concept that stretches across health-conscious fares, dual spaces distinct in the warmly lit interiors balanced by an al fresco perch, or the sundown cocktails crafted by their bar which houses over 50 labels from France, Italy as well.

Luca doesn’t just look the part, they deliver on the plate, too. Grounded in bold Indian roots, accented with a European touch; to mark this holy month, the Luca’s Iftar Feast 2026: Sajian Senja buffet is unveiled.

Envision indulgence steeped in Luca’s Indian specialties, seasoned with local Malaysian soul and spices—plus a whisper of Western delicacy. Serving up appetisers as well as salads like Zucchini Kurkuri, Samosas, and Prawn Cocktail Salad, and there’s no better way to enjoy it than with the condiments they have.

Much like on a weekly ritual, the Luca Indian Specialties range from vegetarian Daal Tadka, Aloo Gobi, and Bhindi Kurkuri, to Luca’s satiny Butter Chicken, Mutton Rogan Josh, Mango Fish Curry and more. Firing up in the Malaysia Kitchen are Rendang Tok Ghani, a familiar favourite: Masak Lemak Putih Kubis & Labu, and Sarawakian delicacy Manok Pansuh—slight bitter notes, yet light and herbal.

Next to this, sits a live station showcasing the Assorted Roasts—think red meat such as chicken, duck, lamb leg, and beef, crisped and carved before you; pasta, per your preferred sauce; chaat dressed live; and Skewers Station for those ready to get a little sticky. How about From Western Kitchen where you can dip into a taste European? Roasted Garlic Broccoli & Cauliflower, Baked Pumpkin with Spiced Honey, Potato Au Gratin for the non-meat eaters while Beef Bourguignon, Chicken Cacciatore, Lemon Garlic Butter Mussels, and many more tempt from their table.

Even as a buffet, Luca offers a space that leans towards to quiet conversations than large buffet crowds, more dinner-table intimacy than banquet-hall bustle. And as you stop by the ice cream counter with condiments to drizzle, Falooda to dip into, and Gulab Jamun at hand, a touch of syrup is all it takes to send the night off sweetly.

On that note, this same custom extends to your iftar table: Makan-Makan Bersama.

Spanning five flavourful sets: The Farm Signature Nasi Dulang (RM119), The Farm Rasa Nusantara Nasi Dulang (RM119), The Farm Rasa Nostalgia Nasi Dulang (RM139), The Farm Rasa Laut Nasi Dulang (RM119), and The Farm Makan Bersama-sama Feast (RM228). In the same order, Whole Roast Chicken lands on the table with The Farm’s Percik Sauce, brooding on Nasi Ulam; Daging Berlengas with 5 sides, joined by Nasi Kapitan Tanjung; mingling with the same rice pot is the tender Kashmiri Lamb Stew; The Farm Rasa Laut Nasi Dulang allows you a pick with Nasi Ulam, between either Steamed Barramundi with Nam Jin or Barramundi Bakar with Panggang Sauce; and lastly, for a party of six is this set brought together.

Folding in the three previous sets’ standouts alongside their respective rice, it’s a feast only a crowd can truly tuck into.

Imagine dining inside the crystal clear belly of a glasshouse, a sanctuary designed for more than a show of craftmanship, but for an ambience as comforting and chic as how slow conversations over a cuppa can meld into. That’s Ginger by Brick House Group for you.

For this fasting month, on the other hand, Ginger presents to you A Taste of Tradition. In both a set and à la carte fit, shows diners a scene of calm or rousing chaos and cheers within a party of four. Together with its styled starters, sips, and sweet delights, Ginger’s A Taste of Tradition: From The Land and To The Sea are a celebration you wouldn’t want to miss.
