Hennessy Artistry 2025: A Cross-Cultural Collision That Lit Up The Night

KL’s most awaited night of music and culture returned bigger, louder, and more immersive than ever. Here’s what went down.

Every year, Hennessy Artistry stands as one of the calendar’s most circle-worthy events. This past edition, held at The Arch Galeries, however, took things to the next level. It was the first event of this scale that the newly minted destination played host to, and what a christening it turned out to be. The walls were cavernous, and they had to be, to contain the 3,800 or so partygoers who descended in their throngs to experience a night unlike any other.

Hennessy has always been more than just cognac. The maison has stood as a musical and cultural touchstone throughout the years, and you’ll have no doubt heard it name-checked on countless tracks at this point. It’s this vivifying tie-in that Hennessy Artistry was conceived to celebrate, as music—much like Hennessy itself—is a creative expression best enjoyed as a collective. It’s safe to say that the festival has garnered some weight here in Malaysia, earning an informal designation as one of the year’s defining cultural moments for nocturnal revellers across the country.

East met West in spectacular fashion at Hennessy Artistry 2025, as Dutch legends Showtek had a rollicking crowd eating out of the palm of their hand in a headlining appearance alongside Hong Kong R&B sensation Tyson Yoshi, who serenaded with his dulcet tones. The two were more than ably supported by a lineup of familiar favourites from around the region in Dato’ Maw, Yaung, BLINK, and DJ Chuno. Indeed, it was a melting pot of genres that sated everybody’s need to get down and let loose.

Hennessy’s creativity was on full display that night, and it wasn’t strictly limited to the realms of the sonic. It also bubbled vivaciously in a series of interactive spaces that dotted the walkway to the party room. There was a cutting-edge streetwear collaboration with HdPC, as well as an arcade-style dancefloor that challenged your sense of rhythm, among other attractions. It all made for a night of spirited revelry and organic connection, where Hennessy set the stage, gave us all the props, and let us make of the night what we wanted.

As the remnants of DJ Chuno’s final track reverberated through the halls, the night’s merrymakers filed out in their numbers to a series of after parties across KL. The night was still young, after all, and the crowd saw it out at a host of familiar third places in 404 Club Not Found, Boomshake, Pitt Club, Spark Club, and The Vault to cap a night that’ll live long in the memory.
