Part café, part listening room, Stereotype draws in audiophiles and night owls alike. The space leans bold and design-forward, tuned as carefully as the playlists. On the menu: cappuccino pasta, sambal garlic butter tiger prawn spaghetti served in a mug, and a line-up of zero-proof coolers that hold their own.

You’ve seen him all over the internet: Ben Sumadiwiria—better known as Bobby Saputra—now has a physical address called Bobby’s Burgers at The Exchange TRX. Go for the Angus beef patties finished with his house Billionaire Sauce. The queue is incredibly long for this one, so head over before the dinner crowd arrives.
Address: The Exchange TRX mall, Level Concourse.

Something rather fabulous is bubbling away in KL: the 90-day pop-up by Chef Toraik Chua pulls from a three-Michelin-starred pedigree, moving through leek broth, giblets, king crab with caviar, grouper, and wagyu, with sake and wine pacing the night. Then Jun Ong takes over, lighting the room into something closer to theatre than dining. It runs from 1 April for exactly 90 days, then it disappears. No encore promised.

Straight out of Tokyo, Torino Toriko lands as a pop-up with skewers over flame and a deeply savoury chicken ramen. Compact, fast-moving, and built for sitting close—like a backstreet stop in Shinjuku—this one is worth the trip.

For dessert, head up to Apartment 80 at REXKL—a rooftop spot that trades the noise for a little breathing room. On the menu: Frozen Chocolate Mousse, Tea-ramisu, and a line-up of coffee, matcha, and non-caffeinated drinks that keep things going without tipping the balance.
Address: 3rd Floor, REXKL. 80, Jalan Sultan 80, 50000, Kuala Lumpur.

At Zipangu, Chef Kazuo Takizawa is running a tight, sea bream–focused programme. The Ainan Red Sea Bream menu spans four, five, or seven courses, moving from lightly seared cuts to sashimi, then into warmer territory like sencha broth, a crisp katsu sando, Japanese-style acqua pazza and a salt-baked fish brushed with soy. The fish leaves on 22 May, so catch it while you can.
