Nespresso’s Summer Of ’86 Collection Is Built For KL’s Heatwave

From citrusy Yuzu Vanilla Over Ice to the bold Athens Freddo, Nespresso’s latest Summer of ’86 collection delivers a line-up of iced coffees made to survive Kuala Lumpur’s never-ending heat.

KL’s heatwave clearly didn’t get the memo about leaving, so survival mode currently involves two things: air-conditioning and iced coffee. Since we can’t exactly live inside a freezer, Nespresso’s new Summer of ’86 collection arrives right on cue with a line-up designed for drinking cold and staying vaguely functional.

Leading the new additions is the Yuzu Vanilla Over Ice, where bright Japanese yuzu meets sweet vanilla in a light-roast Arabica blend that tastes like someone gave your usual iced coffee a citrus holiday.

Returning by popular demand is the Coconut Vanilla Over Ice. Smooth Latin American beans bring caramel-like notes, while coconut vanilla rounds everything out into something dangerously easy to finish in one sitting.

Then there’s the Athens Freddo, built for those who like their coffee with a little more attitude. Bold and dark-roasted, it balances cereal and woody notes with a pleasant bitterness that stays lively over ice instead of turning flat halfway through the cup.

The World Explorations Lisbon Bica leans deeper and nuttier, layering roasted cereal notes with warm almond undertones for a more intense iced coffee moment that still feels polished rather than punchy.

Seasonal favourites are also back in rotation. Ice Leggero keeps things bright and breezy with fruity notes softened by gentle cereal undertones, while Ice Forte goes heavier and fuller-bodied, combining South American and Indonesian Arabicas for a cold coffee that doesn’t disappear beneath the ice.
