Beyond the breathtaking views and impeccable interiors, Sol at Level 40 ignites KL’s dining scene with a bold Latin flair.
KL just got a whole lot hotter. Rising from the 40th floor of The Met Corporate Towers in Mont Kiara, Sol—Latin for “sun”—is setting the city skyline ablaze with the spirit of Latin America. The fiery brainchild of Leslie Jerome Gomez, Managing Director of The Olive Tree Group, Sol marries wood-fire cooking with sultry rhythm and soulful flair. Think bold, bright, and unapologetically Latin—just the way good nights should be.

Sol’s interior strikes a bold balance between elegance and sunlight, with every detail steeped in drama. From floor-to-ceiling drapery that softens the space to fiery marble pillars that anchor the room, its design makes a statement. Overhead, undulating wave-like ceilings evoke motion, adorned with lush ferns and cascading chandeliers that glimmer through the foliage, creating a layered, almost cinematic ambiance. Gold-hued lighting warms the space, complemented by a vibrant disco ball that scatters reflections across velvet textures and polished surfaces.
Sprawling a whole 6,000 square feet, Sol’s interior spills out onto an al fresco terrace made for golden hour reverie. At 40 floors above the city, with sweeping views of KL’s skyline and its iconic towers, sunset here is a moment best savoured with a chilled glass of white or a salt-rimmed margarita in hand.

In Sol’s open kitchen, helmed by Chef Sam Gazo, fire meets finesse. The culinary journey begins with light, but elevated bites, such as the charcoal-fired sourdough served with smoked garlic paste and umami butter. For a punch of flavour, opt for the crispy Spanish-style potatoes, indulgently laced with black garlic aioli.

The menu eases into a symphony of Latin starters like wood-fired Pacific oysters and pulled beef empanadas. From the sea, standouts like ‘Charcoal-Seared Halibut’ and ‘Wood-Fired Golden Snapper’ are executed with smoke-kissed precision. For those craving heartier fare, must-tries like the ‘Octopus and Chorizo Skewer with Pomegranate Chimichurri’, ‘Six Hours Pulled Lamb Shoulder’, and ‘Shepherd’s Pie’ are not to be missed.
Back inside, all eyes are drawn to Sol’s striking centrepiece—a circular, backlit bar that glows like a halo of hedonism. It’s the first architectural statement to greet guests, inviting them to gather, sip, and settle into the rhythm of the space.
Suspended above is a lavish chandelier, casting a soft, golden shimmer that sets the tone for your meal. Whether for a pre-dinner ritual or a post-meal indulgence, the bar offers signature cocktails like ‘La Selva’, ‘Sol de los Andes’, and ‘Bossa Nova’.
Just beside the sculptural bar, the DJ deck adds a pulse to Sol’s polished ambience—a subtle shift from fine dining to nightlife. On select evenings, the energy transforms as resident DJs and guest performers hit the deck and stage, curating soundscapes that move from sultry Latin rhythms to upbeat lounge mixes. From Wednesday to Saturday, themed nights keep the vibe elevated, blurring the lines between dinner service and dance floor.

Latin heritage flows seamlessly into Sol’s cocktail menu. A vibrant line-up of agave-based classics awaits, while tucked away in a sleek corner, a wine cellar showcases an impressive collection of New World and Old World gems. Secured by fingerprint-only access, this curated haven boasts over 100 labels while dedicated sommeliers are on hand to guide you through perfect wine and food pairings. For teetotallers, inventive mocktails ensure every palate is delighted and no one is left out.
