Sometimes nothing hits the spot quite like a proper bowl of ramen, and these three places are well worth knowing about the next time that craving rolls around.
Ever get the craving for a warm, hearty bowl of ramen that simply nothing else will sate? Well, if you do, you’re in luck because KL is spoiled for choice when it comes to places where you can get a good bowl, and today I’ve picked out three for you to have a look at when hunger strikes next. Some of these are famed for their rich broth, others known for their springy noodles, but whatever you’re looking for, there’ll definitely be something worth checking out at these three places.

Ramen David in TTDI is the place to go if you’re looking for some intense natural flavours guided with the utmost precision. Their noodles are handmade in-house daily and then aged for four to five days thereafter to build the optimal structure, firmness, and bite. This is what lays the foundations for some of the highlights here that include their signature oyster ramen, as well as their silky chicken paitan broths. Great if you’re looking for a modern, thoughtful dining experience.

Tokyo Ramen focuses on chicken-based ramen that doesn’t stray far at all from Japanese tradition. You’ll find clear shio and shoyu broths on the menu, alongside a creamy chicken shiro and spicy aka ramen made with Korean gochujang if you’re looking for something with a little more kick. Slow-simmered and paired with full-bodied noodles, the broth dovetails nicely with the roasted chicken chashu and the other carefully considered toppings layered onto it.

Originating in Kyoto, Towzen takes an altogether different approach to their ramen. Here, they specialise in a soy-milk-based broth, alongside other plant-based options that all manage to be deeply flavourful without need for any animal products or alliums. It’s vegan-friendly ramen that doesn’t concede anything at all in terms of taste or texture to the classic recipes.

So, whatever you’re looking for next, be it a slow-simmered chicken broth, a classic Tokyo-style bowl, or a rich plant-based soup, these three places will have something to scratch that itch. All that’s left is to pick one, call up a friend (or really just go alone), and get situated for what you know is going to be a top-tier ramen experience.
