With its new ‘Makan Berhidang’ campaign, Bijan returns to the heart of Malay dining where balance matters, rice anchors the table, and food is meant to be enjoyed together.
In Malay culture, a proper meal is never a solo act. It is berhidang where dishes arriving together, eaten together, and experienced as one complete story. There’s rice at the centre of the table, gravies meant to be poured generously, something dry to contrast something saucy, heat to wake the palate, and freshness to bring everything back into balance.
With Bijan’s new ‘Makan Berhidang’ campaign, it brings this philosophy to the forefront—celebrating evenings built around reflection, connection, and the simple pleasure of eating well with others.

Here, no dish is designed to stand alone. Texture is meant to offset richness, spice is softened by herbs and greens, and gravies exist for one very good reason: to be eaten with rice. It’s a dining rhythm that feels instinctive, especially during moments meant for slowing down and coming together.
To bring this idea to life, Bijan has created three set menus, each designed for four people and built around a fully balanced ‘Makan Berhidang’ experience.

The most approachable is Set Kenduri Bijan (RM290++), a generous, family-style spread that feels like a warm gathering at home. Expect classic appetisers, laksam, grilled meats, rich gulai, sambal-based dishes, fresh kerabu, a choice of rice, and traditional Malay desserts. It’s the kind of table that invites long conversations and second helpings.

For those who appreciate heritage on a plate, Set Warisan Bijan (RM490++) leans into tradition with sup kambing, grilled seabass served with classic condiments, slow-cooked meats, masak lemak, fresh greens, rice, and time-honoured desserts. It’s a menu that reads like a love letter to old recipes, gently refined for the modern table.

At the top end is Set Istana Bijan (RM690++), a celebratory spread designed for moments that deserve something extra. Here, you’ll find sup ekor, Wagyu grill, premium seafood, masak lemak udang galah, sambal-led dishes, rice, and an elevated dessert selection. This set is indulgent, composed, and still unmistakably Malay at heart.
Each set follows the natural rhythm of a traditional Malay meal, meant to be shared and enjoyed together. No single dish demands attention; instead, everything plays its part in a carefully choreographed balance of dry, wet, spicy, and fresh.

Through ‘Makan Berhidang’, Bijan isn’t simply serving dinner but offering a way of dining that values thoughtfulness and connection. A reminder that the most satisfying meals are not about individual plates, but about what happens when people gather around the same table. And in evenings shaped by reflection and togetherness, that table becomes the main event. Individual dishes will remain available, while the set menus are offered until 20 March 2026.
