Roberto’s Lands In Senibong Cove, And Johor Is Eating It Up

A new chapter in Italian dining unfolds at Senibong Cove, where Roberto’s makes its Johor debut with polished plates and a chic atmosphere.

Some evenings feel special from the moment they begin and then there are evenings like 12 November, when the universe decides to sprinkle a little extra stardust. Roberto Guiati and his team gathered at Senibong Cove in Masai, Johor, to celebrate the grand opening of Roberto’s, and what unfolded was far more than a ribbon-cutting ceremony. It became a once-in-a-lifetime moment when Guiati was awarded the prestigious Knight of the ‘Order of the Star of Italy’, also known as the ‘Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia’. With that, the grand opening became grander than anything we’d imagined.

An honour carried across oceans

Presented by Ambassador Raffaele Langella on behalf of Italy’s President, Sergio Mattarella, the award was a shining testament to Guiati’s dedication to Italian culture and hospitality right here in Malaysia. The ‘Order of the Star of Italy’ is not just any recognition; it honours individuals who strengthen Italy’s ties with the world through culture, hospitality, diplomacy, and heart.

To see Guiati receive this honour here in Malaysia, surrounded by his team, partners, and community, was a moment that left everyone feeling humbled and admittedly, a little misty-eyed.

A night filled with warmth and distinguished company

The celebration was graced by notable guests who turned an already sparkling night into a truly unforgettable celebration:

• YAB Dato’ Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Chief Minister of Johor
• His Excellency Raffaele Langella, Ambassador of Italy
• YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital & MP for Damansara

Their presence reflected not just support for Roberto’s, but a growing and heartfelt connection between Italy and Malaysia especially in food, culture and hospitality.

The start of something amazing

This wasn’t just the launch of a restaurant but the start of a new chapter rooted in Italian heritage, exuberant flavours, and the belief that food can bridge hearts and cultures.

The team at Roberto’s is deeply grateful to Ambassador Langella and everyone who has supported their journey, and they can’t wait to welcome diners to Roberto’s at Senibong Cove for authentic Italian flavours, heartfelt hospitality, and the joy of good food by the waterfront.
