The Magic Table Brings 3D Magic And Dining To KL

Between courses, expect puzzles, mysteries, and a little sleuthing, all brought to life on the table in front of you.

Making its debut at Grand Hyatt KL, the new five-course dining experience brings together food, 3D projection, technology, and illusion, with Austrian magician duo The Clairvoyants at the centre of it all. The result is dinner with considerably more going on than deciding whether to have another glass of wine.

The concept takes guests into a fictional world where magic has been passed down through generations, with the dining table transforming throughout the evening into an interactive stage. Three-dimensional projections, light, sound, and visual effects weave around the meal, while intimate magic tricks and unexpected moments keep diners involved rather than simply watching from the sidelines.

In other words, this is one dinner where keeping your eyes on your plate might not be the best strategy. The five-course menu has been designed to play along, with each dish forming part of the evening’s larger narrative. Courses arrive as chapters, with flavours, presentation, and staging working together to create a dining experience that is as much about what happens around the food as what lands on the plate.

And then there are The Clairvoyants. Thommy Ten and Amélie van Tass are no strangers to making people question what they think they’ve just seen. The Austrian duo shot to international attention through America’s Got Talent, where their mentalism and illusion performances introduced their particular brand of magic to audiences around the world.

Their speciality is a curious mix of telepathy, illusion, stagecraft, and a knack for making an audience wonder whether they missed something obvious. For The Magic Table, they have taken that repertoire and reimagined it for a much more intimate setting.

Rather than appearing solely as performers, The Clairvoyants are creative partners behind the concept and digital hosts guiding diners through the evening. Their presence turns the experience from a traditional show with a meal attached into something more interactive, where guests become part of the performance.

The clever part is how the technology stays in conversation with the food. The table changes, the room shifts, illusions appear and disappear, and each course slots into the story rather than arriving as a standalone act. On the menu, expect Hokkaido scallops, white corn egg custard, crab croquette, wagyu beef short ribs, and grilled Maine lobster tail. It is dining, but with a few rules rewritten. At The Magic Table, the question isn’t simply what’s for dinner. It’s what happens next.
